Speaking during the launch, FARM Contractor, Dr. Herschel Weeks said the objective of the project is to sustain and increase agricultural activities in selected communities.
Dr. Weeks added that the project also aims at increasing trade and improving the capacity of producers, private and public sector to develop commercial small holders’ agriculture in Southern Sudan.
FARM is funded by USAID and targets states in greater Equatoria to assist the Government of Southern Sudan achieve agricultural development and food security goals.
Central Equatoria State Minister of Agriculture, Michael Roberto Kenyi said the project has come at the right time, adding that the state would soon witness positive changes in the field of agriculture.
