MINISTER URGES CITIZENS TO REMAIN ALERT ON EXPIRED GOODS

The minister of commerce, trade and Industry in the government of southern Sudan GOSS urged citizens to be on high alert concerning the imported goods.

The minister’s comment came after the administration of Quality Control and Standards in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry impounded a truck fully loaded with expired beer.

In a statement to the press, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Stephen Dhieu Dau said officials of the Department of Quality Control and Standards intercepted and impounded the truck at Jebel K√Ö¬°r√Ö¬°k, popularly called Jebel Kujur, checkpoint.

Mr. Dhieu threatened to take severe administrative and legal actions against the company.

The Minister did not rule out termination of the contract of the offending company but cautioned citizens to be on high alert in the interest of their personal safety when they are purchasing beer and canned and bottled foods.
