World Food Programme or WFP through United Nations Refugee agency or UNHCR is distributing food and non-food items to Internally Displaced Persons in Yei.
Other food items distributed include sorghum, salt and cooking oil, Radio Easter reports.
About 4,000 IDPs from Wonduruba, Maridi and Mundri areas are receiving the relief.
Francis Ezike Okagu, the head of UNHCR in Yei says non-food items are also being distributed to those in the camp.
Wonduruba chairperson of the IDPs, Pitialee Paul Lemi, appreciates WFP for the support and urges other humanitarian agencies to do the same.
The food will help the displaced people for only a month, says Arkangelo Sebit, South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission Coordinator in Yei River County.
He appeals to the IDPs to bear the situation by appreciating the little provided to them by the humanitarian agencies.
