It brought embarrassment and shame to the president, government and the people of South Sudan, the Former Political Detainees say in a statement.
They quote Dr Barnaba Marial Benjamin respond to UN Human Rights Office as writing ‘In case of Dr Luka Biong Deng, the University of Juba is an independent academic institution which employs nationals and non-nationals like Dr Luka Biong who is a citizen of the Republic of the Sudan’.
The statement is inconsiderate and certainly unconstitutional, the Former Detainees remark.
They call on the responsible ministers in making the statement to resign or else be dismissed by President Salva Kiir.
The parliament should summon these ministers and pass vote of no confidence, the Former Detainees recommend.
Dr Marial on Tuesday denied the statement attributed to him.
