After clashes among IDPs at UN Protection of Civilians site in Juba on Saturday, United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS says the situation is calm now.

The clashes left one person dead and 110 others injured.

The fight allegedly began after a dispute over a domino game, but later on family members armed with spears and machetes got involved.

UNMISS says its peacekeepers intervened to stop the fighting by deploying security forces within the site and along the UN compound in Juba.

Four patients suffering from serious injuries were transported to UNMISS’s level II hospital for further management.

Two UNMISS officials of the protection unit force also sustained minor injuries and are being treated.
