Lainya County in Yei River State celebrated the International Women’s Day on Tuesday.
The celebration was postponed from March 8th due to fear of insecurity f, Radio Easter reports.
The celebrating women reiterate need for peace for development to take place.
They also urge the government and SPLM/A-In-Opposition to implement the peace deal to end suffering of citizens.
County Women Association Chairlady, Ludia Koropo says two women were raped in Lainya in the beginning of March.
She calls for justice to prevail against violators of women rights.
Another woman, Peresi Dudu urges government and development partners to avail empowerment opportunities for women to realize quality development.
