The Governor of Tonj pledges to control insecurity in the state within few days.

Akec Tong Aleu told thousands of people during peace prayers on Saturday in Tonj that security situation in the state is a matter of some days to normalize, Radio Don Bosco reported.

He also vowed to return all the domestic animals looted by both sides of the conflicting communities to rightful owners.

The governor appreciated the Parish of Sacred Heart, Tonj of the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek and other faith groups for organizing the prayers.

We recognized ourselves as children of one God and that is why we gathered here to pray for peace in the state and beyond, Tonj Parish Priest John Peter, told the faithful.

The peace prayers attracted government officials, spear masters, chiefs, Catholics and other denominations.
