Yei River State cabinet on Wednesday started a three-day conference on development planning.
The conference is under the theme: ‘Together we can achieve for the new state’, Radio Easter reports.
The Catholic Bishop of Yei Diocese Erkolano Lodu Tombe, in his opening reflection, urges the leaders to put God ahead of them.
Governor David Lokonga says the conference came at the right time for the state to work hard in addressing development obstacles.
He appeals for active and equal participation in the conference.
Citizens are still facing many challenges in areas including water and sanitation, infrastructures and education, admits Bidali Cosmas Lasuba, Yei Mayor.
The conference is expected to end on Friday.
