The High Court has granted lawyers to access 16 officials accused of corrupting over 14 million US Dollars from the Office of President Salva Kiir.

The 16 officials involving two high ranking workers in the Office of the President have been in detention for eight months without trial, Radio Bakhita reports.

The accused are facing trail in the high court for forging the signature of President Kiir.

But, Reech Ring, the defence lawyer for some of the accused including Mayen Wol and Kur Ayuen says his clients need legal aid before the next trail takes place on February 25.

My clients were interrogated without seeking guidance from lawyers, Ring argues.

Last year, President Kiir suspended Mayen Wol, the Executive Director and Yel Luol, the Chief Administrator in the presidency for alleged involvement in a fraud.

The case has also implicated some officials in the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank.
