St John Paul II Philosophy in the Catholic Diocese of Tombura/Yambio is now promoted to a full university status.
Pope Francis during the Conference of the Catholic Bishops of Sudan and South Sudan in Rome blessed and upgraded St Paul II Philosophy in Yambio to university, announces Bishop Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala.
The Philosophy School was established in the diocese three years ago to train future priests in South Sudan, the bishop explains.
15 students after completing three years courses from the Philosophy in Yambio now study at Catholic University in Nairobi, Kenya.
They will be graduating in May this year with Degree Awards.
Tombura/Yambio Catholic Diocese is running learning institutions such as polytechnic studies, colleges and human management courses among others.
