The High Court on Thursday adjourned the hearing on the petition to block the Chief Justice from presiding over the case against the creation of 28 states for the third time.

The hearing of the case has again been moved to February 26 because of the absence of two members of the plaintiffs, Radio Bakhita reports.

Defense Lawyer of the National Alliance, Agok Makur, claims that they have won the case because the plaintiffs failed to show up for the hearing.

Chairman of the Alliance Dr Lam Akol Ajawin asks the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Chan Reech Madut, to step down from the case and allow other judges to pursue the hearing.

The case against the 28 states has been postponed several times after the Alliance submitted an application seeking to bar the Chief Justice from chairing the case.
