Lent period teaches Christians to deepen their faith in God by fasting and praying, says a Catholic priest of Tombura-Yambio Diocese.
Fr Thomas Bagbiowia preached that as 2016 Valentine celebration coincided with first the Sunday of Lent, people should not involve themselves in human love, Radio Anisa reported.
Abstain from any activities that are for pleasure to your body, Fr Bagbiowia stressed.
40 days of prayers and fasting in the Holy Scriptures prepare Christians for great events in life, he added.
As Jesus Christ was tempted, the faithful should be strong to meet and overcome any temptation Fr Bagbiowia advised.
