Radio Bakhita won an award for being a creative station in 2016 among the radios in South Sudan.
Community Empowerment for Progress Organization or CEPO gave Bakhita a certificate and three thousand South Sudanese Pounds on Saturday on the World Radio Day.
Mading Ngor won the award of the innovative journalist of the year for initiating Radio Bakhita’s ‘Wake Up Juba’ talk show.
CEPO gave Nichola Dominic Mandil of the Eye Radio a certificate and 3,000 Pounds for being the best journalist of the year.
Eye Radio also became the best station of the year and Clement Wani known as Dj Lomisak became the best music presenter of 2016.
Juba Monitor became the best English Newspaper of the year and Adija Acuil won the award of the best cartoonist of the year.
Al Mougif won the same prize for the best Arabic Newspaper.
Rejoice Tio Samson of South Sudan Television became the best news anchor of 2016.
All the winners were awarded the same prizes.
CEPO Director Edmond Yakani said the wards are meant to encourage the hard working journalists and media houses in serving the public.
He advised reporters and media outlets that did not win the prize to try their best to get next year.
