South Sudan Law Reform Commission is set to update the laws of South Sudan, says acting chairperson.

Martinson Oturomoi says most of the laws were drafted when the country was part of the Sudan, Radio Bakhita reports.

The Commission will start reviewing laws that deal with the common citizens including the Criminal Code and Judiciary Act

Oturomoi adds that the review process may not start early as stakeholders are yet to decide on how to carry the review.

The Commission will do its best to ensure that the laws are put in correct form, Oturomoi says.

The Council of Ministers is yet to approve the project before it takes effect.
