National Minister of health is expected to launch the construction of maternity ward at Torit Civil Hospital in Imotong State.
Clementina Itwari invites the public especially women to turn up to welcome the minister at Torit airstrip for the ground breaking ceremony, Radio Emmanuel reports.
The maternity ward is part of 800 thousand US Dollars donor project initiated in 2014 to renovate Torit Referral Hospital.
Former Eastern Equatoria state Health minister Dr Margaret Itto disclosed that World Health Organization contributes over 600 thousand Dollars for the maternity wards.
She said the ward will include an operation theatre and antenatal and postnatal service centres to take care of mothers before and after delivery.
The measures follow a survey on the shortcomings and needs of the hospital with findings listing numerous problems in terms of lack of infrastructure and staff.
