Japanese Center for Conflict Prevention in collaboration with partners on Friday launched a child friendship space in Gumbo.

Operations Manager Feridah Mputhia said they enlighten children on peace through dances and songs for them to grow peacefully, Radio Bakhita reports.

The event is an open space for IDPs’ children and host communities to interact together and build peaceful relations, ONAD Director Moses Monday reveals.

He says the activities prevent violence and encourage children to be peace builders.

Joseph Aboj Dominic of the Ministry of Gender and Social development applauded the Japanese Centre and the partners for the program.

The initiative under the theme: ‘Peace for progress and development’ is sponsored by the Japanese Platform in partnership with ONAD.
