More than seventy animals in Wau State are vaccinated against diseases which can easily be transmitted to human beings.

Animals like horse and donkeys carry diseases including typhoid and skin rushes, says Veterinary Doctor, Paul Angelo Rizig of the ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resource, Radio Voice of Hope reports.

The campaign would also educate animal owners on how to feed and protect their animals from diseases, Dr Angelo adds

Dr Angelo said sick animals like horses can contaminate water which can be dangerous for human consumption.

Bashir Abdel Salam, who treats his three donkeys every year, says he keeps the health of his animals because it is the main source of income.

The vaccination campaign will continue for two weeks at the Ministry’s veterinary section in Wau.
