Many people were arrested in Juba over suspicion of random shooting of guns on the New Year’s eve, according to the police.
Those arrested include members of the organized forces and civilians, National Police Spokesman Colonel James Monday Enoka tells Radio Bakhita.
He calls on those who sustained injuries or lost property during the shooting to report to the police.
Inspector General of the Police in his message cautioned masses against random shooting as means of celebrating the New Year.
But still heavy gunshots were heard in Juba and other major towns in South Sudan defying the orders.
