President Kiir orders governors to appoint women as deputies

The President on Tuesday told the 28 state governors to appoint women as their deputies to fulfill the gender equality in the government.
 
President Salva Kiir says he failed to appoint a female governor in the newly created states due security concerns in the country, Radio Bakhita reports
 
The President on 24 December issued a decree appointing all male state governors which attracted criticism from civil society organizations and women activists.
