The Government of Southern Sudan has resolved to identify and select up to two hundred highly qualified civil servants from the neighboring countries for a rapid intervention support program to civil service institutions in the south.
Speaking to SCR news, the acting Undersecretary in the Ministry of Labor and Public Service Hellen Achiro Lotara said that the employment will not be automatic.

Ms. Achiro explained that every directorate or ministry will identify the gaps that exist in terms of capacity of civil servants which will be forwarded through UNDP to various IGAD countries.

The later will identify active civil servants in those countries and send in their CVs based on the identified gaps in the various directorates or ministries.”

Three IGAD countries; Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia have been identified as the regional states where the highly qualified civil servants or retired civil servants can be selected.
