Two years of recurrent conflict in South Sudan makes civilians to continue paying the price of failure to implement the peace agreement, say agencies.

Oxfam, South Sudan Women Empowerment Network, SSWEN and Community Empowerment for Progress Organization, CEPO say fighting continues despite the signed deal.

Civilians are being targeted and new battlefields emerging in formerly less affected areas.

It is time for South Sudanese leaders to make the peace deal a reality to bring real change for the people, says Oxfam South Sudan Director, Zlatko Gegic.

He urges the international community to take a stronger stand in ensuring that the peace deal is implemented to end South Sudan tragedy.

‘South Sudan should not be abandoned at this critical time’, Gegic pleads.

Exclusion of women in the implementation modality delays peace process for South Sudan, says Paleki Obur, SSWEN Executive Director.

The agreement on paper can only be a reality when leaders show political will to implement it to end citizens’ suffering, says Edmund Yakani CEPO Director.
