One soldier was injured on Saturday evening when his drunken colleague exploded a grenade in Yei Municipality.
The attempted suicidal incident happened after a misunderstanding within the joint operation force, Mayor Santo Paul Lasuba revealed on Sunday.
Radio Easter journalist witnessed people around the incident place fleeing for lives after the grenade explosion.
The Mayor ordered forces out of duty to move without guns and uniforms in the town.
According to him, all forces should keep their firearms in the barracks after work.
The blast occurred at 06:45 PM on Saturday at the Joint Operation force compound.
