The head of SPLM delegation that left for Canada last month to learn the Canadian referendum experiences on the province of Quebec returned today with a pledge to share their knowledge with the referendum commission and partners.
Addressing the press upon her arrival, Dr. Anne Itto, SPLM deputy secretary general said that during the referendum, the voters must be crystal clear on what they are voting for.

She called upon GoSS and the referendum partners to focus on voters education which is the only process in which people will be enlightened on what they are to vote for.

Dr. Anne Itto noted that the credibility of the institution organizing and conducting the referendum must be trusted by the voters.

She noted that the latter results in the voters’ acceptance of the results.

The delegation also interacted with the south Sudanese communities in Canada.

Dr. Anne itto revealed that less than fifty people were able to vote during the elections due to eligibility issues. She mentioned that the latter might discourage south Sudanese in Canada from voting during the referendum.
