The detention of civil society members in Wau will delay the delivery of the electric generator to Western Bahr El Ghazal Ministry of Gender, says Community Empowerment for Progress Organization Director.
Edmund Yakani adds that the detention of the activists also hinders the lobby for girl child education law and the training of government officials in the state, Radio Bakhita reports.
He appeals to the presidency to intervene into the situation.
Yakani calls for dialogue and collaboration between CEPO and Western Bahr El Ghazal State authorities.
Eight of the 14 civil society activists detained in Wau were released last week after the intervention of the United Nations and human rights organizations.
