The Indian government has pledged to technically support the Government of South Sudan (GoSS).

The pledge was made through the new Indian envoy to Sudan, ambassador Avanindra De-ma, who visited south Sudan this week.

Addressing the press during the weekly press briefing, GoSS minister of Housing, Jemma Nunu Nkumba, said Mr. Avanindra met several ministers to introduce and familiarize himself as the new appointee, and listen to the progress and demands of the ministries.
Ms. Nkumba said her ministry briefed the ambassador on the ministry’s plans and on the support it requires, particularly in sanitation and housing.
Ms. Nkumba urged the ambassador to encourage Indian investors to come into south Sudan.

GoSS welcomes any foreign initiatives that would support the physical development of the region.
