The International Movement for Catholic Students, IMCS, yesterday resolved that the best option for Southern Sudanese in the referendum is separation.

The IMCS was meeting in Rejaf since August 12 2010, to discuss on the referendum.
The workshop was mainly focused on: youth and nationalism, leadership and good governance, ways and obstacles toward the referendum, and possibilities of the referendum to be held on time.

Speaking to the SCR news, Abraham Malek, IMCS information secretary, said his organization resolved that the best option for the people of southern Sudan during the referendum is secession.
Mr. Malek stated that the north did not make unity attractive for the last five years of the interim period, and that the south did not benefit from the unity of the country since its independence from the British.

He added that the IMCS is ready to cooperate with the Government of Southern Sudan, states governments, NGOs and any civil organizations to sensitize the community on the referendum
The IMCS workshop brought together university students from north Sudan, south Sudan and eastern Africa.
