The Southern Sudan Referendum Commission said that the voters’ registration exercise will begin in September or October.
The deputy chairman of the referendum commission and chairman of the Southern Sudan Referendum Bureau, Chan Rieth Madut said yesterday in Khartoum that the commission is working so that the registration takes place between September and October, Sudan Radio Service reported.
He added that the final decision on the real date will come from the head office in Khartoum, and that committees in charge of voter education have been formed, and that each state will be represented by five people.
According to the Comprehensive Peace Agreement the referendum voter registration was to take place in July 2010.
