Renegade George Athor is on the run and his army is dying off, said the governor of Jonglei state.
Addressing the press upon his arrival from Jonglei at Juba airport on August 13 2010, Kuol Manyang Juuk said Mr. Athor’s rebellion has remained with a few people, adding that it will be a matter of time for him to be crushed.
He further explained that the SPLA have united with the youth against another figure who was contesting the elections in Pibor County.
Governor Manyang confirmed that the Khartoum government has been aiding renegade Athor until the plane supplying arms was hi-jacked.
Renegade general George Athor began a rebellion in April after losing an election.
