Juba residents say prices of goods and services continue rising uncontrollably.

The city dwellers say they have not felt the price control policy, government announced last week.

One of them, Peter Bale, explains that even local products like bamboo that used to cost 25 South Sudan Pounds, today costs 35 Pounds.

He believes majority of South Sudanese now live below poverty line of a dollar a day.

Mr Bale says poor feeding puts people at risk of infections.

Government spokesperson, Michael Makuei Lueth, last week announced the injection of ten million US Dollars to Alpha and Ivory Banks to control rising food prices.

Juba Monitor Chief Editor, Alfred Taban, believes food price control may cause yet another artificial shortage.

Traders may resort to stockpile food items until prices can rise.

The editor suggests that government should encourage farming for business.
