Two survive plane crash in Juba

About one-year-old baby and 40-year-old soldier have survived Wednesday’s plane crash on Juba Na Bari Island near the International Airport.
 
An eyewitness says legs of the surviving soldier and baby got broken in the incident.
 
34 dead bodies have been confirmed in human remains pouches transported to Juba Teaching Hospital.
 
The dead include several adults and children, the eye witness says.
 
Juba Teaching Hospital Director-General John Chol Tipo says the plane crash survivors are receiving treatment in their facility.
 
A resident near the scene, Ibrahim Mohammed, says he heard a strange sound at about nine o’clock near his homestead while he was cultivating.
 
He says he ran home immediately to see what happened; fortunately he found none of his family members were hurt.
 
Combined Air Service Assistant Operation Manager, Kenyi Galla, says between 50 and 55 passengers among them wives and children of soldiers forcefully boarded the cargo plane.
 
The management cites overloading as the cause of the crash.
 
The plane crashed on one tree a few metres after taking off from the runway.
 
The ill-fated plane was destined to Palouch in Upper Nile State.
