The national Health ministry declares South Sudan free of cholera.

Preventive Medicine and Disease Director John Rumunu on Tuesday says the announcement followed no report of new cases in the past 29 days, Radio Bakhita reported.

He says cholera outbreak in June was due to overcrowding and poor sanitation, drinking of untreated water and eating of unhygienic food.

World Health Organization or WHO country representative Abdulmumini Osman urges citizens to report all suspected cholera cases to authorities.

The Ministry also launched a free hotline number 1144 for citizens to report disease outbreak.
