RADIO SAUT AL MAHABBA CELEBRATES ONE YEAR ON AIR

Radio Saut al-Mahabba, the radio of Sudan Catholic Radio Network SCRN in Malakal, celebrates today one year on air.

Sr. Elena Balatti, a Comboni sister who is heading the radio station, said that the past year has been marked by many challenges, but by God’s grace, the commitment of the staff and the support from executive members of SCRN have made it possible for the radio to continue offering its service.

On August 8 2010 Monsignor Roko Taban, the Apostolic Administrator of the Catholic diocese of Malakal, will bless the radio station with a simple ceremony.

The station opened on August 4, 2009. With a mast of seventy two meters it is able to send its signals beyond sixty Kilometers from Malakal town.
It broadcasts in Arabic, English, Shilluk, Nuer and Denka, and offers educational programmes and accurate information, to promote reconciliation, evangelization and better living conditions in the area.
