Concerned citizens today met over thirty south Sudanese musicians to encourage them on composing the south Sudan National anthem.

Rev. Peter Deng Garang, from the Episcopal Church of the Sudan, said the artists have been given the idea and plan on the components of the anthem.
He added that the anthem must have seven important points on the history, land, people, struggle, sacrifices, destiny and flag of south sudan.
Rev. Deng added that the idea of composing a national anthem came from GoSS president, Salva Kiir Mayardit.

The anthem will be entitled the Land of Cush.
Rev. Deng explained that “Cush” of “Kush” means the black people.
