Central Equatoria’s Yei River County Labour Department reveals about 100 cases of wrong employment contracts’ termination has been registered since the beginning of 2015, worsening trauma cases in South Sudan estimated at 56 percent by Juba Teaching Hospital.
Yei River County Assistant Labour Commissioner Paul Ohisa Thomas tells Radio Easter in an exclusive interview that there are sizeable employers with illegal recruitment procedures ending up disappointing employees with sudden termination notices.
The labour commissioner says at least 100 employees end up dragging employers to court without seeking amicable resolution of employment disagreement through the labour office.
Commissioner Ohisa warns employers against tribal consideration for recruitment instead of meritocracy, saying the mentality may cause organizational collapse.
He challenges the nation to denounce tribalism in labour market for better development.
