Eastern Equatoria formed a committee to check on allocation of contracts and monitor the progress of contracted work in the state.

The state governor, Louis Lobong Lojore, explained during the weekly press conference on Saturday, that the committee would check on graft and work efficiency.
He added that the committee will review all the contracts, assess their implementation, and evaluate if the money paid to the contractors matches the value of the work.
Governor Lobong pointed at the poor construction material he found in the constructions sites he visited.
He blamed substandard constructions in Eastern Equatoria on government employees, especially on engineering staff charged with the responsibility of overseeing the progress of the work.

The contract committee is the third team formed in line with the policy of the governor to curb corruption in the state.
The “Employment and Promotion Board” was the second of such teams, and was constituted after the “Verification Committee”, formed to rid Eastern Equatoria state of ghost employees.
