Juba-Wau airfare rises to 2000 Pounds, prompting outcries from passengers

Golden Wings Airline Company chartering commercial flights from Wau to Juba and vise versa has increased air ticket charges from 750 South Sudanese Pounds to 2000 Pounds, citing fuel and hard currency shortages as the cause.
 
Golden Wings Acting Director Mario Louise Abusuf acknowledges that the number of customers flying has drastically reduced and that they have no option of maintaining airfare as economic crisis worsens everyday, Radio Voice of Hope reported.
 
University of Bahr El-Ghazal student Jago John decries the airfare rise, saying had there been good roads and security travelers would opt for land transport.
 
Trader Monica Louise who sells dresses and women shoes says the air ticket charge is a blow to business progress.
