Small and medium women entrepreneurs in Juba say skyrocketing prices of food commodities in the country affect their businesses negatively to the extent of threatening to end survival since profit making is becoming impossible.

Vegetable trader Regina Dudu tells Radio Bakhita that local vegetable suppliers raised commodity prices such as okra to 400 South Sudanese Pounds which is beyond consumers’ purchasing power and willingness to buy.

She calls on the government to rescue small scale business women from economic hardship and total collapse.

Another vegetable dealer at Juba Bus Park Suzy Tabu says the vegetable business is no longer profitable like before and that she has no option but does it just for the sake of survival of children.
