International Committee of the Red Cross or ICRC conducted 3,900 surgeries and more than 76 thousand outpatient consultations to promote access to health care in South Sudan.
In a statement, ICRC says it has provided medical materials to 75 first-aid and other healthcare facilities.
The committee says it has provided antenatal care for 3,200 women, safe deliveries for 210 and more than 5,500 vaccine doses for children under one year old.
ICRC adds that it has assisted nearly 1,800 people with disabilities and evacuated 455 war wounded persons.
ICRC supports the authorities to adhere to international standards by visiting 4,400 detainees throughout the country and improving living conditions for 2,500 detainees.
The committee says it has trained 1,160 weapon bearers from government and SPLM/A-In-Opposition on International Humanitarian Law and 321 weapon bearers in police and fire fighters in first aid and safe access to health care to promote knowledge and respect.
