World Food Program or WFP is conducting fumigation training for farmers in South Sudan to control pests and insects in warehouses.

WFP Logistic Officer Teklu Kebede says the techniques help local farmers or peasants overcome pests in stores by using chemicals to avoid incurrence of 10-30 percent losses due to pests, Radio Bakhita reported.

The official says the trainees on the third day will be taken to WFP warehouse in Juba to practically experience what they learnt theoretically.

The WFP official made the statement on Wednesday in Juba.
