United Nations Development Programme or UNDP earmarks more computers and Information Communication Technology equipment to Ministry of Justice for electronic case management before the end of 2015.

UNDP Representative Lealem Berhanu Dinku discloses the plan on Friday during the handover of January-December 2014 Case Management Statistics report to the Ministry, pledging continuous support to improve prosecution services.

Justice Ministry’s Director of Prosecution Filberto Mayuot Mareng says the system is essential in tracking cases in criminal justice chain for investigation and crime reporting efficiency in various states.

Justice Ministry’s Undersecretary Jeremiah Swaka Moses Wani says the report was not comprehensive in analysis because four states including Central Equatoria failed to appear on case management statistics.

January-December 2014 Case Management Statistics report ranks Western Equatoria the best and Eastern Equatoria second best in case management while Lakes State lags behind as the worst with Warrap, Northern and Western Bahr el Ghazal as its followers.

Leading crimes include grievous hurt with 35 percent, theft 23 percent, adultery 14 percent, murder and robbery seven percent each and five percent for rape.

Male lead female by 90 percent in the crime case management statistics in six states of Western and Eastern Equatoria, Western and Northern Bahr El Ghazal, Lakes and Warrap.
