Yei River County on Monday adjourned World Teachers’ Day celebration from Monday to Thursday, citing financial constraints and unpreparedness.
Organizing Committee Chairperson Taban John Mobutu says the rescheduled celebration on October 8 will include procession of students and teachers to Yei Freedom Square, Radio Easter reported.
He says Teachers’ Professional Union, Yei River County Education Department and schools contributed resources for the recognition of teachers’ efforts.
The theme of World Teachers’ Day celebrations 2015 is ‘Empowering teachers, building sustainable societies’.
