Eastern Equatoria government or the designated Imatong State Peace Security Advisor urges communities to flee from outdated harmful cultural practices to modernity.

Paul Langa on Friday cautioned communities against illegal possession of firearms and bad cultural practices, labeling them as sources of insecurity, Radio Emmanuel reported.

He calls on communities to co-exist in harmony as brothers and sisters, saying grievances should be resolved by courts of law and creeds of God.

The Security Advisor made the remarks during the opening of two-day community security discussion organized by South Sudan Network on Small Arms or SSANSA in Torit.

SSANSA Program Manager Winnie Gulliver says community discussions better relationship among members and security providers.
