EE Parliament returns Policy Statement to ministry

Eastern Equatoria State Parliament in a deliberation on Wednesday bounced back Local Government and Law Enforcement Ministry’s Policy Statement presented by Minister Lokai Iko for first reading due to of lack credence in the introductory part.
 
MP Angela Ajana Pio moved a motion to rebound the policy statement which MP George Echom Ekeno seconded, Radio Emmanuel reported.
 
Legislator Maira Severino Janus seconded a counter motion moved by MP Robert Okumu Agany that specialized committee scrutinizes the document and fixes defects.
 
Head count voting in the August House brought the verdict of the two sides with the final result to rebound of the document to the ministry.
 
Speaker of the State Assembly Tobiolo Alberio Oromo cautions directors in the ministry over oversights in documents that determine safety matters of the state.
 
Other issue of objection in the policy statement is inclusion of ‘Wildlife Conservation and Tourism’ that was since changed to an independent ministry.
