Eastern Equatoria State Legislative Assembly on Monday nullified summons to two ministers for contradicting hunger death report.
The Assembly Speaker Tobiolo Alberio Oromo says the cancellation was due to absence of the mover of a motion MP Bernard Loki, Radio Emmanuel reported.
The speaker declined to efforts by MP Marcelo Lokuju and others to only postpone the validity of the summon, saying no specific day was set.
Speaker Tobiolo rules that the summons to the two ministers would only be revived if the Assembly Business Code stipulates so, cautioning ministers against missing Parliamentary proceedings required by the State Constitution.
Information ministers, Mark Akio and Agriculture minister, Clement Chichim Laku were summoned for denying death cases in the state due to hunger.
