The National Legislative Assembly on Monday referred the Environmental Policy 2015-2025 to its specialized Land Committee for scrutiny in one week’s time.
Speaker Manasseh Magok Rundial made the National Environmental Policy referral after its presentation by Environment Minister Deng Deng Hoc Yai who calls for peaceful human co-existence with the surrounding and its natural resources.
The Policy stipulates the need for protection and conservation of the environment with regulations, guidelines and laws at all levels of government.
It calls for mass environmental education, prevention of pollution and degradation, private-public partnership in waste management and promotion of green economy to address youth unemployment in South Sudan.
