GOSS AND GONU VICE PRESIDENTS INAUGURATE MANGALA PORT AND JUBA-MANGALA ROAD

The Vice presidents of the governments of National Unity and south Sudan inaugurated the Mangala port and Juba- Mangala road today which are financed by the Unity support fund.

Osman Taha and Dr. Riek Machar Teny traveled together to Mangala in Central Equatoria and Maridi in Western Equatoria state where the first unity projects shall be implemented.

Addressing the press on his arrival from Maridi, Goss vice president Dr. Riak said the Mangala port will assist in transporting barges from Mangala adding that it will take the heavy pressure off Juba Port. He added that the consruction of the seventy five kilometer road from Mangala to Juba was also started and will be finished in six months.

Dr Riak said the dam and water project in Maridi will change the health of the people leaving their and attract tourism.

The Unity support fund was established by the government of National Unity to make unity attractive in the 2011 referendum.
