Commissioners of Tonj East and South Counties of Warrap State on Wednesday joined their counterparts of Rumbek North and Cueibet of Lakes State in a peace conference convened at Cueibet.
The host Commissioner Isaac Mayom Malek confirmed in a telephone interview with Radio Good News that the four-day conference is expected to tackle issues of cattle rustling, sharing of natural resources and settlement of border conflicts among others.
He downplayed claims of looming hunger in the county, saying the rain fell twice and people are busy harvesting groundnuts.
Hosting the conference is rotated between common border counties of Lakes and Warrap.
