National Committee for Healing, Peace and Reconciliation calls on citizens to be sincere for peace to prevail in the country without concealing old grudges.
The Committee Communication and Information Manager Peter Kout terms pretense in peace as ‘a smiling mask’, urging citizens to address the past to avoid future violence, Radio Emmanuel reported.
He urges communities to reveal unresolved past grievances since 1955 to determine better mechanisms for conflict solutions, advising the community to cooperate with peace mobilizers by giving them accurate information.
The Communication and Information Manager asserts that the committee ventures to gather credible information on past grievances and current issues among communities for lasting peace in the country.
National Committee for Healing, Peace and Reconciliation trained 55 peace mobilizers in Eastern Equatoria and deployed them to various Payams of the state to document complaints among communities.
Eastern Equatoria is the second to Warrap State where training of community peace mobilizers was also conducted.
The Committee for National Healing, Peace and Reconciliation is expected to rollover the exercise to cover the entire country.
