Lainya County in Central Equatoria on Friday blessed its first concretely constructed office for Forestry Department, the former State Governor Clement Wani Konga previously opened.
The Department’s Assistant Commissioner Manju Stephen says they used local resources including royalty and 40 percent from the forest products to construct the office, Radio Easter reported.
He urges citizens in the county, state and the nation at large to replace the cut trees by planting more to avoid desertification and looming bad weather conditions.
According to a global tree survey released on Thursday three trillion trees are on earth, but that 15 billion are cut down every year by human beings for different use.
