The Catholic Archbishop of Juba while presiding over sixth anniversary of pastoral work of Frs Erkulano Lodu and Johnson Jada on Sunday at St Theresa’s Cathedral, challenged priests for abandoning their vocation after some years of service, terming it ‘unfortunate’.
Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro said some priests do not want to continue because either they are not satisfied with their priestly lives or not very sure of their vocations, Radio Bakhita reported.
He encouraged the Christian community in Juba to pray for the priests and especially Frs Johnson Jada and Erkolano Lodu to strengthen them to continue proclaiming the Good News of the Lord.
Archbishop Lukudu re-announced that Pope Francis accepted his resignation of retirement after he reached 75 years old according to the Canon Law, but is waiting for formal declaration.
The Metropolitan Archbishop is expected to leave Juba for Rome on Wednesday for pastoral duties and treatment.
